Eleuthera, one mile wide and 100 miles long, means freedom and for the early settlers it ment religious freedom,in Old Greek "Eleutheros". Today the most important income is fishing and farming, which supplies the other 699 islands in the Bahamas. Eleuthera has two island, "Spanish Wells" & "Harbour Isand", with his 5 mile beach and pink sand.
Gregory Town, well known for their pineapple farms and festival in June, is located on a high ridge thar slopes down to the deep blue harbour.
Not far away is the world wide known "Surfers Beach",on the atlantic side.
Oleander Gardens, 2 miles north of Gregory Town, is located directly to the sea, in a romantic bay and his own private beach. It is very quiet, only a few houses,the moon and the stars. When the sun goes down you can watch the fireflies. Only 3 owners live their all year, the others come only for vacation, mostly in the winter time.
